Socialize Through Google Reader

The new version of Google Reader just made using social media a lot easier. by incorporating social media sharing tools. All you have to do is go to the settings area of Google Reader and enable Digg, StumbleUpon, Twitter, etc Once enabled, highlight a selected RSS Feed click “Send To” and choose the social media site of your choice. Also, they’ve made life easier for you by improving their “mass” mark all as read button. This way you can easily filter out old news. At this point, if you are a power content reader there is absolutely no reason why you shouldn’t have your feeds listed.
In general, RSS Readers and Google Reader specifically are one of the most underutilized services on the web. This is the same feeling I have for the Viigo service on Blackberry. You can get all your information from one screen, why would you deal with the browse times, etc going from site to site? This is a tough question to speculate on for an answer, but I’ll try any way. For one I think it takes away from the web browsing experience. Two, I think a lot of people don’t care about receiving news fast. I know this sounds strange, but they are on the web as a hobby rather than looking for every shortcut in the book.
